East Bayfront Real Estate
One of the most substantial elements in Waterfront Torontos vision is the redevelopment of the East Bayfront, which began in the mid-2000s with the construction of projects like Corus Quay, Sugar Beach, the George Brown Waterfront Campus, and Sherbourne Common. Torontos waterfront of today is a far cry from the once heavily industrialized south edge of the city. It is bordered by Parliament Street to the east, Jarvis Street and the Jarvis slip to the west, and the rail line and Gardiner Expressway to the north.
East Bayfront Homes
East Bayfront will consist of about 6,000 new residential units and 8,000 new jobs. The vision for this area to become a hub for creativity, technology and innovation with the goal of further strengthening Torontos position in the growing knowledge economy. Landscape has already become a defining characteristic of this community due to the fact that construction on the 5.5 hectares of parks began long before any buildings had been completed.
East Bayfront Transportation & Location
Transportation is extremely easy for residents. East Bayfront itself is accessed by various roads including: Queens Quay, Lake Shore Boulevard, Gardiner Expressway, Lower Jarvis Street, Parliament Street and Lower Sherbourne Street. Future plans by the TTC would see streetcar service running from Union Station down to Bay and Queens Quay, head east along the Queens Quay to Parliament Street.
